    On behalf of my staff, I would like to express my gratitude for the generous manner in which you have backed our efforts to rebuild Iraq National Library and Archive (INLA). We truly appreciate outside support and assistance, which have enabled us to move forward in a relatively short period and under extremely difficult security conditions.

    Thank you very much for your worm reception of my librarians and archivists, who have benefited evidently from the knowledge and skills of your specialists in the fields of restoration and web-site designing. We have integrated your training programmes into our plans to modernize INLA.

     I would also like to stress that, for the new democratic Iraq, libraries and archives are crucial institutions, as they provide a free access to all types of information and knowledge. It is not exaggeration to say that, by assisting INLA, you have played a tangible role in the reconstruction of our cultural heritage and the creation of a free and open society.
